WHAT WILL YOU BE RESPONSIBLE FOR?
Audio Visual, Telecom, Networking, and Low Voltage Cabling:
- Install, configure, and maintain Audio Visual, Telephony systems, and low voltage cabling infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to AV, telecommunications hardware/software, and cabling.
- Design, implement, and maintain network infrastructure to support Towner solutions, ensuring seamless integration with low voltage cabling.
- Perform system upgrades, patch management, and cabling inspections.
- Integrate Towner solutions with existing network environments, with a focus on optimizing cabling layouts and efficiency.
- Conduct regular network and cabling assessments, recommending improvements.
Technical Support:
- Serve as the highest level of escalation for technical and cabling-related issues.
- Provide mentoring and guidance to Tier 1 and Tier 2 support staff on both technical and cabling practices.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, knowledge base articles, and cabling diagrams.
- Conduct training sessions for internal staff and clients on solutions, networking best practices, and cabling standards.
- Backup the service desk on calls and email overflow when needed.
Customer Service:
- Deliver exceptional customer service and support to Towner Communications clients, especially in relation to on-site cabling needs.
- Manage and resolve high-priority and complex service tickets, including those involving cabling issues.
- Engage with clients to understand their needs, providing tailored solutions that include low voltage cabling considerations.
- Conduct regular follow-ups to ensure client satisfaction, system performance, and cabling integrity.
Lead Tech for Project Management:
- Lead tech on all projects from inception to completion, with a significant focus on on-site low voltage cabling.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure project milestones, including cabling tasks, are met.
- Provide regular project updates to management and stakeholders, including cabling progress.
- Ensure all projects adhere to industry standards, best practices, and cabling codes.
- Contribute to planning and development of projects by assisting in kick-off meetings, note-taking, and keeping detailed project notes in ConnectWise.
- Advise the Project Manager of change orders with schedule impacts, particularly those involving cabling.
- Report data such as hours and materials used from each job, including cabling, to management.
Inventory Management:
- Maintain inventory of equipment, tools, and cabling supplies.
- Manage and maintain assigned company inventories and assets (tools, vehicles, parts inventory, laptop, cabling tools, etc.).
Education and Experience:
- Associate degree in computer science, Information technology, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in AV or telephony systems, with a strong background in networking and low voltage cabling.
- Preferred Qualifications BICSI Installer, CNCI, CFOT, or CompTIA Network+
Technical Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of audio visual, telephony systems and solutions, with proficiency in low voltage cabling.
- Proficient in networking protocols and technologies (TCP/IP, VLANs, QoS, etc.).
- Experience with network security best practices.
- Familiarity with Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Proficient in using network monitoring and diagnostic tools, including WireShark.
- Skilled in analyzing and reading pcap files for network and voice troubleshooting and diagnostics.
- Demonstrates proficient skills with audio visual, telephony – pulling cable, terminating cable, troubleshooting wiring, loading configuration files, installing, and maintaining all related equipment.

On-Site Requirement:
- This role requires 60% on-site work, including but not limited to the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of low voltage cabling, AV systems, and network infrastructure.
